The razor e100 scooter is simply a superb toy for those that are ready to try their first electric scooter. I began my online research for the razor e100 scooter because my son put it on the very top of his "Wanted List" =).
One appealing factor of the razor e100 scooter is the company has been around since year 2000. You're dealing with a product line that has satisfied tens of thousands of children (and adults!) and stood the test of time. You and your child are not the test subjects.
Riders can, and do some pretty cool tricks. Some kids even compete professionally on electric and kick scooters. So the sky is the limit. Use the razor e100 scooter to take a quick scoot down to the corner store, share some family time, or if you're a preteen or teen, practice tricks with them and go into competition if you want (and have time for). Get yourself some accessories for elbows and knees, and a helmet if you're into tricks - otherwise a helmet will do fine.
Razor e100 Scooter Features
The Razor e100 scooter since it's beginnings in has been a great ride to have fun with and get around. It's powered by a chain drive motor for a fast and fun ride. A rear brake makes it easy to stop and the motor recharges in 4-8 hours. I say 4-8hrs because I've seen this much of a variance. I'm guessing it all depends on how drained the battery is.
The updated features include a chain drive with fixed axle, double welded frames, and a twist throttle. The Razor E100 scooter is recommended for ages eight and up.
Scooter Type : Motorized Standing - It's great for getting around fast.
Motor Type: Electric - Eco green friendly and requires little upkeep.
Scooter Construction: Double-Welded-Structure - Incredibly lightweight and durable.
Brake Type: Rear Hand - Maintaining control of the scooter while braking is a piece of cake.
The razor e100 scooter is a great ride for pre-teens and teens wanting to zip over to a friends house or head to the park. Unlike Razor's E300S and E500S scooters that I reviewed (whose motors start from a standing position), the razor e100 scooter requires a small manual kickoff to 3 miles per hour before starting (the rider presses a trigger to start the motor). Once you're on the move though, the scooter will zip on up to 10 miles per hour. It's fast enough to have fun, but not too fast where you feel like you'll lose control.
With it's long-life rechargeable battery, you can cruise for up to 40 minutes at a stretch I've also seen some variations here where some claim to ride for almost up to an hour. It really depends how long you ride it for, how fast you travel, and how many up and down hills that will determine what gets you the longest ride possible.
The handlebar folds down, so that makes for easy storage and transport. It does come with the charger, tools and it's backed by a 90-day warranty.

Scooters seem to be overall a great ride that will bring those great stories to the dining room table at meal time. Honestly, I can't find a reason why not to buy the razor e100 scooter, other than you are too heavy for it. They're fun, practical, can save you money, can save you time, can help curb pollution when used instead of a gas powered car, and you can have loads of fun as a family.
